We have received the following notice from Somerset County Council informing us that the Road from Luccombe to Huntscott (Towards Wootton Courtenay) will be closed for 26 days from 23rd November 30th November so that Wessex Water can carry out essential repairs and replace the water main in this area:
Temporary Closure of Huntscott Road
TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset have made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Huntscott Road for a distance of approximately 300 metres.
This order will enable Wessex Water to lay a new water main.
The Order becomes effective on 20 November 2020 and will remain in force for eighteen months. Please visit one.network for further information on the alternative route. For information about the works being carried out please contact Wessex Water on 0345 600 4 600
You can view the site of the closure and a proposed alternative route on the map below (click to enlarge) Or view the original notice (pdf) on the One Network website.

Wessex Water website is now giving dates of 30th November to 18th December for this work. Certainly nothing has been happening this week (23rd Nov).
Thanks Eric it looks like they have set it back a week there’s a sign at the bottom of the road now saying the 30th
Latest update: The Wessex Water engineers have told me that the Huntscott Road should be open again by the end of Friday 18th December. They will be returning after Christmas to continue the section between Wychanger Cottage and The Square when presumably that section of road will be closed.
