Somerset Council are updating the Somerset Adult Social Care Strategy, which will set out their key priorities for the next three years (2026–2029). To make sure the Strategy reflects what really matters, they want to hear from people who draw on care and support, unpaid carers, and the organisations and professionals who provide services across Somerset.
Your experiences will directly shape their priorities. They will also help the Council to understand where improvements are needed so they can reduce inequalities and make Adult Social Care more inclusive and responsive.
They have created a survey which is one of several ways that they are gathering feedback. What you tell them will help them to build a strong evidence base to guide their work and to support a continuous improvement plan.
They would like to hear about:
- Your recent experience(s) of accessing care and support in Somerset
- Any barriers you have faced, and your ideas for overcoming them
- What good care and support looks like to you (or in your service)
- The priorities you think they should focus on over the next three years
Once they have reviewed all responses, they will use your feedback to refresh the Strategy. They will continue to involve people and professionals as the work develops to ensure services reflect the needs of our communities.
You can fill in the survey online here: www.somerset.gov.uk/ascstrategy26-29
The survey closes on the 27th of March 2026.
Printed copies of the survey are available on request at your local Somerset library.
