There are a growing number of accidents involving older drivers – not because older drivers are inherently unsafe, but because a growing proportion of the population is in the 60+ age group. In fact, older drivers are seen as safer than young drivers by insurance companies who charge older drivers lower premiums.
Older drivers in rural areas are more dependent on their cars than most. To help older drivers stay safely on the roads for as long as possible Somerset County Council is offering Route 60+, a free presentation.
Luccombe Parish Council can make the village hall available. All that is required is for enough people to indicate they would like to attend the presentation.
Please email councillors@luccombe.org with your name, contact telephone number and times during the day and days of the week that you CANNOT attend the presentation.
With this information the parish council can see if there are enough people and find the most convenient time for most people to attend the course.
